Some may run to get exercise, some run so they can eat that dessert, some run to be competitive, some run to impress others,.....I have to say, I run to be with God! I sometimes feel like it is the ONLY way I can get away from the phone, household chores, children who need me!!!, emails, errands, etc. I had a great run yesterday afternoon when David came home and I want to share it with you.
I just felt I needed time with the Lord. Have you ever felt that nudging? I've been struggling with something and I felt as if he wanted me to get away.....and run with him for a while, so I did. I had my praise music going and I began running. All of a sudden I realized David had downloaded all these great hymns for me on the shuffle! It was great! Anway, I began praying for our Mexico trip a week from today and tears started flooding down my cheeks. I have really had trouble realizing my "purpose" for going on this mission trip. I've always held down the fort and prayed for David as he goes and I've never had the desire to go. About 8 months ago, David started encouraging me to go with him in November And I thought No way and I going. I have 2 babies who need me and that is around Operation Christmas Child time at our church. So God began stepping in and nudging me for months. I knew I needed to go, but I thought I just couldn't.....Then my mother encouraged me and said she and my sister would help with the kids and things began falling into place. I decided to surrender to obedience(not out of wanting to go) and go. When your man and Your Heavenly Man says go....I thought I better go. But I still didn't have a purpose. After all, I hate blood and I don't speak Spanish!!!
Anyway, on my run, I realized God has called us all to obedience~it just looks different to each one. For me, he said,"I love your children WAY more than you do....lay them down at my feet!" So I began praying that God would make it well with my Soul and guess what.....he has! I still don't know what he is up to with me going, but I AM GOING!
PLease pray for us as we travel to a remote village in the mountains of Mexico to give medical care to the tribes and share the Good News of Jesus. Pray God would start a revival in this area and that we would all be use for HIS GLORY ALONE! PLease pray for our babies and for their health and well being, for my sister who will be here with them for the first few days by herself(Parker too).
It is well with our Soul!

I am so excited for you to get to have this experience...with the Lord and with David. I will be praying for y'all and for the Lord to have His way in all things! May He continue to give you peace!!
My runs are my favorite times with the Lord. What focus I have when I have praise music in my ears and God's beauty all around! (and three little boys snug in their beds!)
Your sweet spirit God has given you and your incredible love will shine to everyone. I can not wait for you to share what God did on this trip!
I will keep you in my prayers.
Love to all!

What a beautiful post! I just got around to getting caught up on everyone's blogging. It has been a crazy couple of weeks around here! I'll add you and your family to our prayer list. I have a lot of "wake time" right now, so why not be pray'n, right????
Mary Grace's party looks like fun! I can't believe she's already TWO. She is so precious.
Hey Girl!
D'Nae sent me a link to the Rapley's blog, I started navigating around and here I am! These blogs are so neat! I was just reading about your decision to accompany David on a mission trip to Mexico and wanted to send some encouragement. Before I got married, for several summers, I traveled to Mexico for mission work with my church. So, I can understand the anxiety that comes along with the language barriers, a trip to a foreign, probably low income place, and leaving family behind. Although I'm sure it will be difficult to leave your beautiful kiddos at home, this WILL be worth every minute away from home. It is amazing to see how God's love can cross over all language, socio-economic and cultural barriers. Even the snotty nosed, dirty kids laughing about the "gringos" (you) will hug/kiss you and you will see God in them. (Get ready for lots of snotty noses by the way!) Anyways, just want to send encouragement your way. I hope that your trip is overly fulfilling, encouraging in your walk, and that it gives you a renewed appreciation for all the blessings in life... Enjoy your trip!

That is so awesome!! I already know that the Lord has great things in store on this mission trip to Mexico. You will be able to communicate Jesus with the people you come in contact with through your love, facial expressions, and the Holy Spirit working through you!! It's an international language...no Spanish required!! I will be praying for you (and your sweet babies) during your trip, and cannot wait to hear the wonderful stories that are to come!!! 8)

I think it's awesome that you are going to Mexico, God's been speaking to me about the same thing... that I need to just shut up thinking about it and GO! Hmmmm, maybe God's nudging me through you? I'll keep ya'll in my prayers, and I'm so excited to hear how God's working in your life. He is going to do awesome things! Hope I see you Tues- Danielle
Just now getting to your blog to read about your run with the Lord. I know when you get back you will have an amazing testimony of how the Lord used you. One of your spiritual gifts or should I say a character of God that shines through you is loving on other people. The people in Mexico will be blessed to have some love from the Lord:)
Hey girl!
Thank you for sharing. I'm sure it will be an exciting story. It always is when God calls us out of the boat "to walk on water". You inspired me to share on my blog. I will be praying for you.
So good to get caught up with you. Loved this post. I love those times with the Saviour. I hope your trip to Mexico is life-changing!
